Our mission is to improve upon a wonderful breed while informing and

sharing with wonderful people.

NOTE:   For those of you on my waiting list for future litters,

we are now not expecting until June, hopefully.  Email for more details...

Below is Karen Temple's boy, CH Temple's Citizen Kane.  Kane was bred

to our Sara.  He is a gorgeous, sweet boy and we love having him visit!

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are interested in adopting one of our puppies

or dogs, please read our "Health and Nutrition" page first.  We only place

our dogs in homes where they will be fed a species appropriate raw diet.   Please feel free to email with any questions!

Information pertaining to variation in pricing:

Search the net or read the classifieds and you will find a large variation in pricing for chihuahua puppies, as well as other breeds.  Here are some reasons for this.  Most newspaper ads are placed by people who have had an accidental or occasional litters and do not show, study, research lines and pedigrees, or provide their dogs with excellent nutrition and health testing.  These folks probably don't know what a chihuahua should look like (think Taco Bell chihuahua) and obtained their dogs from the newspaper or similar means as well.  They put nothing into their dogs, and ask what they paid for theirs.  It is doubtful that they know what is behind the dogs they have bred and may be producing an unsound and/or conformationally incorrect litter.  These folks are not evil, just ignorant.

On the other end of the spectrum you have the scammers or rip-off artists who use improper terminology (rare, teacup, etc) to command outrageous prices for dogs that they put very little into as far as care, researching, pedigrees, exhibitting, etc.  Their priority is money.  They do not breed carefully and do not concern themselves about health issues, conformation, etc.  These ARE the evil ones. Lots of these on free AND subscriber ad sites, for example.  Hoobley being one to avoid.

Then you have breeders such as myself and those I recommend

who breed to the AKC breed standard and show their dogs.  Breeders who research pedigrees, put a lot into their breeding programs and don't even come close to breaking even.  Breeders who do it because they love the breed and want to improve upon it.  Pricing or adoption fees for their dogs usually fall in the middle range comparitively.  Those who show their dogs are already putting a lot of money into that, let alone the cost of health testing, premium foods, etc.

At Tip's, we want to share our chis with wonderful people and don't have any interest in ripping people off.  Our chis must go to only the best homes.  We don't have puppies all the time.  Sometimes we might have a mature chihuahua available to a loving home.  We want our dogs to go to forever homes.  We will always be available for help or advice and will always take any dog that we bred back for any reason and at any age. The back-yard breeders (BYBs) and puppy mills (pet stores) typically don't care.  What we ask is modest compared to rip-off breeders and only a little more than your average "pet" breeder or byb.  Anyone can throw two dogs together and call themselves a breeder AND make a profit - but only if they are doing it carelessly.

Take a look around our site.  Come for a visit.  We promise you will love our chihuahuas and appreciate our efforts.

LINKS TO RECOMMENDED  BREEDERS!

Below are links to both some of my favorite people and breeders.   The breeders below are all in Indiana.  If you need

a breeder in another state please email and I will help all I can.

Karen Temple (Temple's Chihuahuas) is one of my very best friends and has beautiful chis with wonderful temperaments.  I highly recommend Karen and her dogs!   Karen is located in Greencastle, IN.

Roger and Amber Webb of Webb's Chihuahuas are new but have a great mentor in Karen Temple.  Roger and Amber shared their lovely girl "Sara" with us!

Last but definitely not least is Annette Waldkoetter of

Windsong ChihuahuasShe has been showing and breeding chis for around twenty-five years and has gorgeous chihuahuas with beautiful expressions.   Annette is a wonderful and generous person and gave me my start in chis.

Perhaps one of the breeders above has exactly what you are looking for!  Email us for additional contacts that may not have websites.

NOTE:  I do not use the term "sell".  The idea of putting a price on a living creature is not to my liking.  Think along the lines of saying "it" when

referring to a dog.  I hate that.  A chair is an "it" - NOT a dog.  When a

couple adopts a baby you never hear them say "it is three months old".

It should be no different with any other animal - yes - humans ARE animals

too.  We place our dogs or adopt them out.  If you do not agree with this

logic, go elsewhere.

All fees go straight to the dogs.

If you are seriously interested in adopting a chi from us, these are some of the questions we will ask. Please do not be intimidated by these questions as they are simply a way for me to get to know those interested and insure the best placement for both human and dog.  For instance, an older couple might prefer a more submissive and laid-back dog whereas a young couple might like a chi they can enter in agility or obedience, or simply an energetic ball-chaser,etc.  A couple with older children might prefer a chi on the larger end of the weight limit.

If you would like, copy and paste to an email with answers.  Make sure you put "puppies" or "chihuahuas" in the subject line.

I welcome all inquiries.

PLEASE NOTE!!:

We breed chihuahuas of only the finest quality and pedigrees.  This means very typey and with excellent ineages.  However, overall soundness is the most important factor.   No matter how pretty the pedigree, if the dog isn't both physically and mentally sound we have no use for him/her in our breeding program.  We provide our chis with only the finest quality biologically appropriate diet as we strive to create a chihuahua line that is not only gorgeous but very healthy for generations to come.

Our breeding program is strict and we often have a young adult or two available to a good home.

We are not only ethical and careful concerning our dogs but also in our dealings with people and thus maintain very reasonable pricing adoption fees and lifetime support.

We want YOU to be happy but most importantly, we want our chis to be

happy and will be available throughout the life of your dog for any questions, concerns, or helpful advice.

References and pedigrees available.
